How to Find a Strapless One Piece That Actually Stays Up

If you've ever spent a beach day discreetly hauling your strapless swimsuit north every five minutes, you'll understand why we're rather passionate about this subject.

A strapless one piece should give you freedom, not another job.

After almost a decade designing and fitting swimwear on real women, we've learnt that a strapless swimsuit staying put has very little to do with luck and everything to do with how it's designed.

So, what should you actually look for?

1. It needs support somewhere other than the straps

Sounds obvious, right?

But once you remove the shoulder straps, the swimsuit itself needs to do all the work.

Look for structure through the bust and body, a secure fit around the upper torso and enough support through the back. A well-designed strapless shouldn't rely on you tying it tighter or constantly pulling it back into position.

The swimsuit should do the work. Not you.

2. Moulded cups make a difference

For us, moulded cups aren't just about creating shape.

They help provide structure and support through the bust when you're wearing a swimsuit without straps.

The result should feel secure without feeling restrictive.

Because nobody wants to spend a pool day wondering whether the girls are about to make an unscheduled appearance. 😂

3. Look for hidden grip

One of our favourite little design secrets?

Gel gripper tape.

Sitting discreetly along the neckline, it helps the swimsuit stay against your body rather than slowly heading south as the day goes on.

You don't see it.

You don't feel it doing its job.

But you'll absolutely notice the difference.

4. Don't underestimate the back

Everyone looks at the front of a strapless swimsuit.

We look at the back too.

A higher, supportive back helps anchor the entire swimsuit and gives the bust area greater stability.

It's one of those details that doesn't necessarily jump out at you on the hanger, but makes a huge difference once it's on your body.

5. The right size matters

Going smaller doesn't automatically mean your strapless will stay up better.

In fact, swimwear that's too tight can roll, dig and move around just as much as something that's too loose.

You want the suit to sit securely against your body without feeling like you're being shrink-wrapped into it.

Our rule?

Start with your usual size.

Then pay attention to how it feels rather than obsessing over the number on the label.

6. You should be able to actually MOVE in it

Here's our unofficial strapless test:

Put it on.

Lift your arms.

Bend over.

Walk around.

Sit down.

Have a little dance if the fitting room playlist calls for it. 😂

Your swimsuit is going to be worn in real life, not standing perfectly still in front of a mirror.

A great strapless should be ready for swimming, boating, chasing kids, long lunches and whatever else your holiday throws at it.

Why We Created Ours

Our Strapless One Piece actually began with our younger sisters.

They wanted something supportive and secure they could wear around the pool, beach or creek with their kids, but they didn't want to sacrifice feeling beautiful to get it.

So we started designing.

We added moulded cups for support, hidden gel gripper tape along the neckline, a supportive high back, removable straps and soft ruching through the body.

And eventually we landed on something we loved.

Apparently, you did too.

Eight seasons later, she's still here.

That's something we're incredibly proud of because we don't believe good swimwear needs reinventing every season.

Sometimes you get the fit right.

And you leave the bloody thing alone. 😂

The Bottom Line?

Finding a strapless swimsuit that stays up isn't about finding a magical body shape that can "pull one off."

It's about finding a swimsuit that's been properly designed to do its job.

Look for:

Structure. Support. Grip. A secure back. The right fit.

And most importantly, look for something you can put on and then stop thinking about.
