Our story...

Prue & Brooke Needham are two of six children raised on the northern beaches of Sydney, who frequently visited the beach with their mum to run, dance, play and tumble about in the waves.

For holidays their dad, former race car driver and Bathurst winner, Bert Needham shuttled them to warm, exotic destinations like Fiji, Noumea, Hawaii, Bali and Thailand …. as he said “We were like fish…always had to be near the water!”, said Prue.

Tahitian Lime swimwear range is proudly designed in Australia, with textiles sourced from Italy and made by the beautiful artisans of Bali. "We wanted to design swimwear that along with us, that our sisters, friends & fellow mermaids would also want to wear...and feel confident in. So many times we would go swimwear shopping but nothing would seem to suit our curves, height or skin tones and we would hear this often from other Woman; right then we knew there was a gap in the market!", said Brooke.

The Tahitian Lime sisters are mad animal lovers and 10% of profits are distributed directly to assist underprivileged and mistreated animals in developing countries. Since 2016, Brooke and Prue chose 'Act 4 Bali Dogs', the non-profit rehabilitation centre hosted by Australian-born Indonesian citizen Ebony Owens

An innate love of the ocean and nomadic family lifestyle lead them to water. Their feminine instincts led them to fashion. Their combined loves lead to Tahitian Lime, their swimwear label that officially launched in 2016. They now reside in the tropics of Port Douglas, where Tahitian Lime’s boutique store and design HQ is located. Their staff includes eight dogs … Esmerelda Coconut, Frankie Alabama, Sugar Sinatra, Jett King, Baxter Boo, Mowgli Mufasa, Trigger Nomerty & Rusty Rucas - and both their sons too!
