Island Myth

Our First Collection

This was our baby that we had been nurturing for the past two years and she was ready to come into this world!

For this collection it was all about finding our place within the Swimwear industry and who we wanted to be so we experimented with a few base solid colours that we loved, bright prints for our set customer avatars and styles that we felt were missing from the Swim world.

We designed One pieces that would suit size 8’s to 14’s, bikini tops to suit A to D cups, bikini bottoms that were very skimpy to the beautiful high-waisted style (that we have still brought forward to our 2020 collection). Our prints were a mix of working with graphic artists, to having local artist Wade Lewis hand paint three of our prints so they were our very own Tahitian Lime art – so special and unique!

This photoshoot was shot in our very own background, in the tropics of North Queensland Australia. We stayed on the beautiful Great Barrier Reef Liveaboard boat ‘Reef Encounter’ so we could get our beautiful underwater shots by renowned action photographer Scott Needham (also our Big Bro), and then onto our friends very own Treehouse at Trinity Beach, then we shot over to Fitzroy Island for two days (because let’s face it every gal loves her Island time) and this little island sure put on the weather for us for these days and our photographer Sam Costin was absolutely stoked about the lighting it was giving off, which aided in him getting the amazing shots…and then we finished at ‘Thala Nature Reserve’ for our very own beach and wildlife.

Our models were all local girls who hadn’t really modelled before and we just loved how beautiful they all were just naturally in their appearance and personality and it came across in the campaign.
